How to Make A Bra Strap Bracelet
Usually, trends always pass me by, but a new one caught my attention last week. It is about a bra strap to make a bracelet. Then the girlfriend gives it to her boyfriend, and he is pleased about it. I have not found out whether that means a declaration of love or another sign. Maybe I'm just too old for it.
A bracelet like this is really super quick to make. Here's how it works:
-
You need a bra of your choice.
-
Cut the loop in the back where the strap is attached to the ring.
-
Make sure the strap is adjustable so you can easily put it on and take it off. In my case, I left 5cm as a margin.
-
Then measure away from the ring the length you need plus 2cm as an allowance for sewing it together. In my friend's case, I measured a circumference of 18cm, making it 20cm total. This can be used as a guideline if you want it to be a surprise.
-
Then, you thread the end of the strap through the ring, fold in 2cm and sew it together. Either by hand or with the machine.

Ready is the bra strap bracelet
2 variations to spice up the bra bracelet
Since the bra is now cut up, you could also still make one for yourself. For this I have thought of two more variants as the bra bracelets can spice up.
Variant 1: Bra bracelet with bow
In this variant, you can use the bra even further. Because most bras are still sewn loops that you can use for the bracelet. I find the idea mega sweet. Here's how it works:
-
Make the bra strap exactly as described above.
-
Put on the bracelet and mark where you want to sew the bow with a pin or pen.
-
Take the bracelet off again and sew on the bow by hand or with a machine.
-
Done!
Variant 2: Bra bracelet with decorative rings
This is my absolute favorite variation. For this, you need the bra strap and 7 rings. Here's how it works:
-
The bra strap must be slightly longer than the finished bracelet. Because you need more length for the rings.
-
Again, make sure that the bracelet is adjustable. With me, it is again 5cm.
-
From the adjuster, I measured 2,5cm, and here I want to place my first ring.
-
Thread the rings as shown in the video.
-
Measure the bracelet length again from the ring plus 2cm. Since my arm joints are narrower, it is 17cm in my case.
-
Pull the strap end through the ring, fold in 2cm and sew together by hand or machine.
-
Done!
