WHICH BRA GOES WITH WHICH DRESS?

Who does not know the problem: there you have found your absolute dream dress, extravagant and with a deep back neckline, just perfect for the New Year's Eve gala or the ball season and shortly after the fitting comes the disillusionment: what bra do I put under there? Since only a very few of us are blessed with such good connective tissue that they can simply omit the bra, everyone else has to resort to a few little tricks so that the bra does its job completely invisible. Today I'm going to introduce you to different bras for six different dress styles.

► BRAS FOR OFF-THE-SHOULDER / STRAPLESS DRESSES

Off-shoulder dresses or dresses with transparent or strapless shoulders are classics. Unfortunately, this dress form is a bit tricky in terms of bras. If you don't want to do without a bra, reach for strapless bras with built-in silicone strips that provide support against the skin. Many bras also have removable straps, but then you should ensure that the bra does not slip even without straps and does not stand out under the dress. By the way, this bra variant also fits wonderfully in one-shoulder dresses. Here you simply take off one strap for more support. Women with large breasts can also wear a bra with transparent straps for more support - but since you can see them on closer inspection, it is recommended to wear this bra variant with not completely off-the-shoulder dresses, but to choose a dress whose shoulder area is covered, for example, by transparent lace or tulle.

Goes well with off-the-shoulder/strapless dresses:

- Strapless bras

- Bras with transparent straps

- One Shoulder: Bras with removable straps, where one strap stays on

►BHS FOR BACKLESS DRESSES

Backless dresses are real eye-catchers. Unfortunately, they make it almost impossible to put a normal bra underneath. But of course, there is still a solution. One variant would be adhesive bras or adhesive shell bras, which really only stick to the front of the chest and are, therefore, completely backless. The disadvantage: This only works for small breasts up to a maximum of C cups because the breast is not really held. An alternative that works especially with smaller back cutouts is the so-called low back straps, silicone straps that are hooked into the open bra at the back and crossed. With this, you can virtually make your backless bra. If you want to dig a little deeper into your pocket, you will find the perfect solution in special backless bras, which you can buy in any well-stocked lingerie online store.

- Adhesive bras

- Low Back Straps

- Backless bras

► BRAS FOR HALTER DRESSES

There are now also matching bras for halter dresses that go around the neck. Especially great: these bras make a great cleavage due to the halter straps with neck closure, which is almost impossible to achieve with a normal bra. A second option for women with smaller breasts is also here, the strapless bra. However, the decided push effect of the special halter bra is missing here.

Go with halter dresses:

- Neckholder bras that can be closed in the neck

- Strapless bras

►BHS FOR RACERBACK DRESSES

With the racerback dress, the shoulders are free, and the shoulder blades are not covered. Thus, the racerback leans on the classic ringer shirt, which doesn't necessarily make the bra thing easy. But there is a trick: with a special bra clip, which you can get, for example, here, you can turn any bra into a racerback bra. The clip holds the straps together exactly at the level of the shoulder blades so that the bra can be worn invisibly under the dress. By the way, a cheaper do-it-yourself option is the good old paper clip! If that's too much work for you, just go for the classic sports bra, which also leaves the shoulders free, or the special racerback bra, which already has a clip integrated with the back.

To racer dresses fit:

- Normal bras with a bra clip or a paper clip in the middle summarized.

- Sports bras

►BHS FOR DRESSES WITH DEEP V-NECKLINE

There's nothing like deep V-necks, at least if you ask Jennifer Lopez, who brought this dress variation to perfection. Still, the deeper the neckline, the more treacherous the bra problem becomes. Nevertheless, there are suitable bras for deep necklines. I recommend the plunge bra like here, which conjures up a great cleavage despite its very deep fit. Not-so-deep necklines also fit a triangle bra, which is a naturally deep cut. Some bras also have an extra deep bar that is not visible under a medium-deep neckline. If the neckline is very deep, only fashion tape or nipple covers (e.g. these from H&M) actually help, but that only works for small breasts.

To dress with a deep V-neck fit:

- Plunge bras

- Triangle bras

- Bra with deep bridge

- Fashion tape or nipple cover

► BRAS FOR HIGHLY FIGURE-HUGGING DRESSES

Super tight-fitting dresses require seamless underwear that absolutely does not show. Either you also reach for fashion tape here or choose a plain and unpadded t-shirt bra without seams and without underwire. Under certain circumstances, a so-called shapewear bodysuit may also come into question, which are seamless bodysuits made of spandex that are almost invisible under tight dresses.

Go with tight-fitting dresses:

- Shapewear Body

- T-shirt bra without seams

►MY EXTRA TIP

If you are looking for the all-rounder among bras, I recommend the Multiway bra as an absolute secret weapon, which you can get here, for example. The straps can be crossed, closed at the neck or removed; thus, this bra is absolutely perfect for three dress variants!
