Types of Underwear: Boxer-String
Ultimate Guide to Boxer-String
Underwear: Comfort, Style, and
Everything You Need to Know
A Boxer-String is a sophisticated blend of a panty and a string. Cut like a panty, the Boxer-String features a low waistband and a short, straight leg finish. However, unlike a panty, this women's underwear has minimal fabric in the rear. A small fabric triangle runs between the buttocks, creating a dreamy look.
Hipster
Hipsters are briefs worn on the hips, cut very narrowly and snugly, ending just before the start of the buttocks. Unlike regular underwear, they have small leg openings that finish straight at the bottom. The material selection ranges from cotton to lace and synthetic fabrics. Hipsters are perfect under low-rise jeans, preventing any peeking under tight-fitting denim due to their hip-hugging cut.
Jazzpants
Jazzpants are comfortable panties that gained popularity during the dance film wave in the 80s. They feature a moderate to high leg opening and sit just below the waist. Suitable for both genders, Jazzpants are excellent for those who are active, providing a secure and slip-resistant fit. With a higher rise than typical hip-huggers, Jazzpants offer a sporty cut and freedom of movement.
Shorty
The diminutive version of shorts originally came from sportswear. Initially made of cotton with a drawstring, later versions became short, snug shorts with an elastic waistband. As close-fitting lingerie, Shorties are ideal under form-fitting clothing. The Shorty has diagonally set but otherwise relatively straight leg openings on the inside, meeting directly at the buttock crease. In contrast to the snug, shorter Shorty, loose-fitting, mid-length Shorties are also known as French Knickers, commonly found in the realm of sleepwear as short pajama bottoms.
Stringtanga
The Stringtanga resembles a thong but with the distinction that the rear fabric triangle is pulled up very high.
Tanga
A Tanga is underwear consisting of two equally sized (although the ratio can vary) fabric triangles held together by a thin band or ribbon (2-3 cm wide). Tanga panties fully cover the intimate area and approximately 50% of the buttocks. Primarily worn by women, the typical feminine cut of these undergarments was inspired by the famous Brazilian bikinis.
Taillenslip
The Taillenslip is a high-waisted undergarment, sitting well above the hips. The waistband is just below or occasionally just above the navel. The leg openings of this slip are usually low, completely enveloping the buttocks. The Taillenslip can serve as both an erotic, fashionable accessory and a practical everyday panty.
Thong
The Thong is a type of string with a more or less pronounced triangle adorning the coccyx. The typical T-shape has been slightly rounded, forming a stretched triangle with both triangles made of a single piece. Unlike the Tanga, the side parts of the Thong are quite wide and never knotted.
T-String
The T-String or T-Back is a "relative" of the G-String or V-String but without a fabric triangle at the back. The front triangle covering the intimate area is connected to the hip string by a cord passing through the legs, forming the namesake T. The buttocks remain uncovered with a T-String.
V-String
The V-String consists of a fabricless triangle in the coccyx area. Held on the hips by thin strings, this seductive piece conceals the intimate region discreetly with an opaque, wider triangular fabric. The V-String is often also referred to as a Microstring.
C-String
One of the skimpiest undergarments is the C-String, leaving little to the imagination. A tiny fabric triangle covers the intimate area, and a fabric-covered wire runs through the buttocks. There is no waistband or ribbon holding this structure on the hips.
G-String
What is a G-String? It's an extremely minimal panty that only covers the pubic area. The G-String is a type of string thong consisting of a fabric triangle for the crotch and two strings. One string runs around the hips, and the other goes between the buttocks. The rear triangle is entirely omitted, exposing the entire buttocks.
Boxershorts
Boxershorts are loose-fitting underwear that covers the hip area to the mid-thigh. Like some briefs, these shorts often have a front opening secured by a button fly. Additionally, Boxershorts have an elastic band integrated into the waistband for a secure fit. They come in two variations—casual and form-fitting Boxershorts that snugly enclose the legs and hips. While primarily worn by men, they are occasionally offered for women as well.
