When Your Bra Doesn't Fit, Your Clothes Don't Fit Either

75% of Women Wear the Wrong Bra Size! They wear the wrong sizes, leaving visible marks and compromising the perfect fit of their clothing. Because when the bra doesn't fit, neither does the clothing!

When I go shopping with clients or do a closet check, they often stand before me in their underwear, and I can see how their bras fit. Through this experience, I've seen many breasts in even more bras, and I must confirm one thing: that 75% statistic is accurate!

Avoiding Bra Imprints Blazers, blouses, and T-shirts can fit so much better over a well-fitting bra, creating a more beautiful and slender silhouette.

Unfortunately, many women still feel uncomfortable discussing their breasts and bras, so I've dedicated this blog post to this somewhat intimate topic. I've enlisted the expertise of Marta Thut, the owner of Balconette Brafitting.

Underwear Should Be Beautiful but Private Or what do you think? Some women feel self-conscious about various things and don't realize how beautiful their breasts can be and how they can be showcased! Maybe you, too, underestimate how much a properly fitting bra can help you achieve a better silhouette, greater comfort, and wonderful wearability?

You probably wish for the same thing as all women: a bra that creates an attractive décolleté, shapes your breasts beautifully, doesn't constrict, and has sophistication. (And of course, it can be sexy as well.)

Most women say they have a B-cup, but in reality, that's not very much. When men describe it, it's "a handful," and lingerie saleswomen know from experience that it's often a C or E-cup.

Bra Imprints and Cutting In For larger breasts, finding the right bra is more complex. From a medical perspective, they need more support to prevent back or neck pain. However, it shouldn't cut into your skin, create bulges, or leave imprints.

Top 5 Tips for the Perfect Bra without Imprints:

  1. Bra Size to Prevent Cutting In The underbust measurement is the first crucial measurement; it should be measured horizontally and smoothly around the chest. Most women measure between 75-85cm. If the bra band tends to ride up your back, the band size is too big. In that case, you should choose a smaller size. If it cuts into your skin, the bra is too small.

  2. Cup Fit The perfect fit depends on your breast positioning, i.e., how far apart your breasts are. This can vary greatly. For some, there should only be two fingers' width between them, while for others, it's four fingers.

If there's a bit of flesh spilling out of the sides of the cups near your armpits, the cup is too small for your breast. Larger breasts often benefit from full cups rather than half cups.

Does your breast spill over the top of the cups? If so, the cups are too small.

If you notice wrinkles and the cups are saggy, you should choose a smaller cup size.

  3. Bra Straps That Don't Leave Marks The straps should not dig into your skin, but they shouldn't be so loose that your breasts sag forward. If you can comfortably fit two fingers under the strap on your shoulder, it's a good fit.

The underbust band should sit horizontally all around your chest. For added comfort, there's the "Racer Clip," which brings the straps together in the middle of your back. This relieves pressure on the shoulders and keeps the straps from slipping off. Some bras already have different attachment loops, allowing the straps to be worn crisscrossed in the back or more centrally.

TIP: Bend forward when trying on a bra and let your breasts "fall" into the cups. This is the best way to check if it fits well. Natural gravity is at play here.

  4. Center Front The center panel between the breasts should always make contact with your skin and not protrude. Even when you stretch, it should remain in place and not ride up.

  5. Hook Rule Bras should always be fastened on the outermost hook. You should only use the inner hooks when the bra gets older and stretches, allowing you to make it tighter and more fitting.
