Five Key Considerations for Your Breast Health While Wearing Underwear

Is Underwear Fabric Important?

Underwear is no longer just about protecting breast health; in modern trends, it also represents sexiness and charm. But did you know? The material of underwear can impact not only the skin but also the heart.

So, how do you wear underwear for good health, and what should you pay attention to when wearing it? What are the rules for wearing underwear? Let's dive in.

  1. Is Fabric Quality Important?

Underwear directly touches the skin, and the moisture absorption, softness, color depth, and reasonable selection of clothing styles directly affect skin health. Research indicates that the skin on the upper body of an average person has around 50-5000 microorganisms per square centimeter, even more on the lower body. Sweat from work and labor accumulates on clothes and skin, accelerating bacterial growth. These bacteria and their metabolites not only produce odor but can also infect or irritate the skin, affecting skin health. Different textile materials have different moisture absorption rates, with natural fibers (cotton, linen, silk) generally ranging from 8% to 12%. They mostly have good moisture absorption and are ideal fabrics for making underwear. Synthetic fibers (polyester, acrylic, nylon) generally have moisture absorption rates of only 0.4% to 3%. If used as underwear materials, due to their poor moisture absorption, sweat from the skin is not easily absorbed and evaporated by the fabric, leading to the accumulation of sweat on the skin, leaving behind residues such as salt after evaporation, clogging pores, irritating the skin, and easily causing "synthetic fiber dermatitis", mainly manifested as skin itching, especially at night.

The most essential aspect of underwear is its inclusiveness, which enables it to effectively support the breasts and buttocks. Whether underwear has this characteristic or not depends on the materials and construction methods used. We can see that about 80% of the underwear sold in underwear specialty stores use knitted fabrics, while others are organized in lace-like or mesh-like structures. Knitted underwear, whether made of silk, cotton, synthetic fibers, or blends, has strong elasticity. Among these fabrics, knitted cotton fabric is the most elastic and durable.

  1. How to Wear New Underwear

Wearing new underwear without washing it first is not beneficial to health. This is because clothing often uses various chemical additives during the manufacturing process for aesthetics. For example, anti-shrinkage often uses formaldehyde resin treatment; whitening often uses fluorescent whitening agents; stiffening generally involves sizing. For the sake of health, new underwear should be washed with clean water before wearing.

  1. Rules for Wearing Underwear

During normal work, because you often have to move around, it's best to choose a comfortable and soft standard bra. Regardless of the type of chest, this type of bra, which wraps upwards and has underwire, can be used. The lifespan of a bra is the bottom edge of the cup. If this edge loosens, it will disrupt the curve of the chest, so pay more attention. Underpants are the same; they should be neatly wrapped from the waist to the end of the buttocks. Therefore, it is necessary to choose underpants with good elasticity. Some underpants may embed into the buttocks as soon as you move, which will disrupt the curve of the buttocks. Therefore, it is best to choose knitted underpants with two parts that are made of cotton and have good elasticity. Wearing healthy and suitable underwear is not only visually pleasing but also a guarantee of women's health. To be a healthy and happy woman, you need to start with small things and take every detail of life seriously.

Improper underwear materials can also become a triggering factor for asthma patients. Some patients may have asthma attacks immediately after wearing wool underwear, down vests, or clothes made of animal fur, but once they take them off, the asthma gradually subsides. Some asthma patients wear clothes made of chlorinated fibers such as nylon and acrylic.

Therefore, it is best to choose cotton knitted fabrics that are relatively soft and have greater elasticity. Because knitted fabrics are made by bending one or several yarns along the warp or weft into loops and then interlacing the loops with each other. When subjected to external force, they will stretch, which can maintain the original shape of the clothes and adapt to the stretching and bending changes of various parts of the human body, reducing friction between the fabric and the skin. From the perspective of hygiene, it is better to choose underwear made of light or natural-colored fabrics. Because most of the dyes used in the printing and dyeing industry are organic chemical raw materials, residues of dyes on underwear fabrics may cause allergic reactions in some people, leading to contact dermatitis. It is best to choose styles that are "revealing, breathable, and loose" for underwear and avoid being too tight.

  1. The Correct Way to Wear Underwear

After understanding the size of the underwear, choosing your favorite underwear, you need to know the correct way to wear it to highlight the beauty of the lines. You can follow these methods:

  1. First, lean forward forty-five degrees, pass your arms through the shoulder straps, put on both shoulders, and hold the bottom of the cup with both hands.

  2. Then, keep the upper body leaning forward, fasten the back hook to ensure that the chest enters the cup fully.

  3. After fastening, gently pull up the left and right shoulder straps to adjust to the most comfortable position. It is appropriate for three fingers to be able to fit in without being too tight or too loose.

  4. Finally, the position of the back hook should be fixed parallel under the shoulder blades, and adjust the exposed chest into the cup to present the entire chest in a natural state.

  1. Incorrect Wearing of Underwear

Loose underwear that hangs loosely is as useless as not wearing any. Another reason for incorrect underwear wearing is the opposite; wearing tightly bound underwear to create clear curves. Overly tight underwear will leave marks on the body, actually dividing the chest or buttocks into unattractive parts. It may cause fat to accumulate in the chest and buttocks. After some time, the muscles that are cut off by tight binding outside the underwear will slowly sink downward.

In busy work intervals, taking a little time every day to do some appropriate chest expansion exercises will not only make the chest look better but, more importantly, also promote blood circulation in the chest and reduce the risk of breast diseases. This is especially important for professional women who sit for long periods. Only when you truly understand how to love yourself!
